Programme Overview

This course provides a detailed description of a best practice process for ESA proposals, based on aerospace industry standards applied in North America and Europe. It will teach an efficient method of selecting and compiling compelling proposals. It also reviews the ESA ITT pack and EXPRO Proposal templates in detail to maximise the chances of a successful proposal response. This interactive course includes a workshop with participants reviewing and compiling a proposal.

Who is the course for?

Managers, engineers, and other professionals wanting a proven proposal methodology to increase efficiency and proposal success rate, primarily for ESA but applicable to any proposal.  Participants will be asked about their specific questions or needs regarding proposals in advance of the course.

PART 2: DETAILED REVIEW OF THE EXPRO PROPOSAL, EXAMPLE RESPONSE & PSS TEMPLATE

  • Detailed Review of EXPRO Proposal Template, Key things to address and desired responses
  • Detailed Review of an example best practice response
  • PSS forms

PART 3: PROPOSAL WORKSHOP

  • Submission in teams of a storyboard proposal and its evaluation
  • Review of participants overall learning goals

Trainer Profile

Dr Ronan Wall is the Manager of the UCD Centre for Space Research. He has over 18 years’ experience in proposal writing, management and evaluation with SME, Prime Contractor, UK Space Agency and Academia. Ronan was the ESA Proposals Course instructor at Airbus Defence and Space Ltd and has taught proposal management on the UCD MSc in Space Science & Technology for the past 5 years.
